Andrej Karpathy built a complete product in about two hours using an AI agent. Simon Willison shipped a playable game through 321 agent commits — and both point to the same shift in what separates a good result from a mediocre one.
4 min readOpenAI's own researchers now run more agent-workdays than human ones. Watching a second and third agent isn't a bigger version of watching your first — it's a different problem, and most people are solving the wrong one.
5 min readSix separate product launches since April, from always-on Gmail agents to no-code voice builders, kept landing on the same finding. Writing a better prompt was never the fix — defining scope before you delegate is.
5 min readA viral Hacker News essay, a tripled university failure rate, Anthropic's own usage dashboard, and OpenAI's internal delegation data didn't coordinate with each other — but read together they describe the same mechanism, and the same early check for catching it.
5 min readTwo posts hit 1,800+ points on Hacker News this week arguing the same thing: forwarding AI output without reading it is now a career risk, and domain expertise is what actually makes AI better, not prompting skill.
5 min readAn AI agent one-shot a working game and a NeurIPS-ready research paper. Both got rejected for the same reason: strong execution, wrong call on what to build.
5 min readThe jobs debate argues about whether roles disappear. That's the wrong unit. Jobs are bundles of tasks, and AI is redistributing the bundle — here's how to work out which of your tasks move and which don't.
5 min readCAIS and Scale AI tested 240 real freelance projects against AI agents. The results show a fast-growing gap between tasks AI handles end-to-end and tasks it still breaks on. Here's how to read the data for your own work.
4 min readDario Amodei publicly walked back his 'ten years per year' prediction last week and named three specific blockers. One of them is about you.
5 min readChatGPT Work launched July 9 — an autonomous agent that connects to Slack, Google Drive, and SharePoint and delivers finished documents hours later. Three events this week prove the same principle: it works when you can define what 'done' looks like.
6 min readMost people get a genuinely good AI result, feel pleased, and then start from scratch the following week. The gap between occasional wins and compounding ones is about twenty minutes of writing.
5 min readAgents are the wrong shape for more tasks than the enthusiasm suggests — and for a few of them, an old-fashioned rule or a person is better. Six signals that the answer isn't an agent.
5 min readA quarter of OpenAI employees now run four or more agents simultaneously each week. The people doing it most effectively are domain experts, not engineers — and as delegation grows, the risk of losing the ability to judge the output grows with it.
5 min readFive independent signals converged in one week on the same conclusion: the browser-tab AI model is ending. Mollick's Codex research, Karpathy on Claude Tag, and Anthropic's own numbers tell you what to practise next.
5 min readMost agent failures aren't reasoning failures. They're handover failures — the agent didn't know a thing everyone in your team knows and nobody has ever typed. Here's how to find those things before they cost you.
5 min readThe productivity gap between professionals using the same AI tools is enormous, and it isn't explained by tool access, seniority, or technical background. Four habits account for most of it.
5 min readA prompt asks for output you'll read next. A brief defines work that runs without you. The difference is four things a prompt never has to specify — and skipping them is why most agent deployments quietly fail.
5 min readOpenAI and Google shipped always-on agent platforms in the same week. Non-technical teams can now set up agents by describing workflows in plain English. The skill gap is no longer how to prompt — it's how to scope, delegate, and verify autonomous work.
5 min readIn one week: Codex connected to 90+ business tools, Claude Code Routines went plain-English, and nine AI agents outperformed human researchers at $22 an hour. Nobody has the playbook yet. Here's where to start.
5 min readAutonomy isn't a switch between supervised and unsupervised. It's a ladder with five rungs, and most of the trouble people have with agents comes from being on the wrong one for the task.
5 min readThe hours you spent last year sharpening prompts are worth less this year. The skill that separates effective AI users in spring 2026 is management: scoping the task, writing the guardrails, and choosing where to step back in.
